Make Something Special with Us

Make Something Special with Us

One of the biggest joys in pursuing Woodsy has been working with passionate individuals that believe in our mission and are ready to envision something particularly special using urban wood. From hotels, to developers, to educational institutions, we've connected with wonderful teams that want to fill their spaces with statement pieces that lived and were crafted nearby. We take on these partnerships with pride and creative enthusiasm, and the results are pretty special. Here are some highlights:

1 Hotel Toronto

In our earliest days of operating, we connected with the team at 1 Hotel Toronto as they were renovating the suites of the Thompson Hotel in preparation to launch the 1 Hotel brand in Toronto. Their vision: a premium natural environment that emphasizes local. The fit with Just be Woodsy was natural, and over the years, we have created some incredible pieces together:

University of Toronto:

Upon our introduction, the University of Toronto team was immediately supportive of our work and finding ways to bring our cyclical model to their campus. The opportunity came shortly after when they were adding an underground parking lot and would need to remove a selection of trees during the development. Those trees were brought to us and have made their way back to campus in an incredibly diverse number of ways: from awards, to picnic tables, to hallway benches, to chairs, and more. The trees weren't lost, they were repurposed and are celebrated on campus in new lasting ways:

The Queens Park Bench:

When a massive white oak was slated to come down in Toronto's Queen's Park, we knew this was a unique opportunity - to return the wood right back to that spot as a bench that would serve the public and honour that tree's legacy. In 2024, the finished bench was finally returned to the site and we hope it inspires similar action for city amenities moving forward - to use what the city grows, to value the wood that surrounds us, to support making things rather than importing:

Toronto Community Housing:

TCHC has been another incredible partner in adopting our cyclical wood model. With many trees coming down in their Regent Park refurbishment project, they were immediately interested in finding ways to put this wood back into the development. Regent park wood is now gracing lobbies, family buildings, and even serving as gifts to residents - an act with a deep sense of place and connection.

If these examples inspire an incredible idea for your home or organization that is outside of our catalogue line, by all means reach out. Together, we might just dream up Woodsy's next Special Project together and make something iconic.
